Parkday, a vibin' acoustic roots and rock band have been a part of the Gold
Coast live original scene for nearly two years now. In that time the band has
been gaining a reputation as a strong originals act.

The Story so far...
In 2006 Damien and Michael played at various cafe and restaurant venues around the Gold
Coast as the Parkday duo. By the end of 2006 Damien and Michael had formed a four piece band and wanted to take their music to larger venues and a broader audience.
Thirsty for knowledge about the music industry, band members attended the Mentors of Music Program in 2007. The music program supplied fresh ideas and provided direction and support for the band. Following the program Parkday was selected to play at the AMAC showcase which was the bands first live public performance and a great stepping stone into the local music scene. By mid 2007 Parkday was playing in new venues and gained valuable experience as a live band. At the end of 2007 Parkday recorded a humble two track E.P called ‘Second Storey Songs’ which was the bands first recording experience together. The E.P songs helped to create and promote Parkday’s myspace page. In early 2008 the band commenced writing new material. After rehearsing the new songs Parkday started booking shows and have not looked back since. Parkday has been going from strength to strength in the local music scene and have improved leaps and bounds as musicians and performers. After being selected by the GCMIA to record a free two track demo with local producer Guy Cooper, the band has now started to gain momentum. After positive feedback from the demo Parkday recently hired Guy Cooper to produce their new E.P for 2008. Parkday hope to deliver a professional recording that will help firmly establish the band in music scenes on the Gold Coast and beyond.
The Future...
Upon completion of the E.P Parkday plans play a small east coast tour to help promote the release andthe Parkday sound.
