About us

Keytone is an Independent Music Venture based in Brisbane, Australia.

We are in the development stages and working very hard on a music business concept with high ethical and musical integrity as a core value. The venture currently incorporates a cutting edge recording studio, uncompromising record label and this community driven website. There's more in the pipeline too including our unique Independent Global Distribution Network, uDecide and u-FM (our user-driven radio station) all expected by the end of March 2008!

Keytone's genesis developed out of frustration with the existing state of the International Music Recording industry, where authenticity and integrity of music has been replaced by oppressive profit seeking marketing campaigns, ownership and copyright concerns of the major companies and a sense of helplessness experienced by artists and fans alike. The time has come for a change! The major labels who traditionally exploit their artists for their own ends are facing a fiercely competitive environment driven by new technologies and instant global delivery. We have embraced this new ethos. We know that the musicians who create the musical art form everyone enjoys should be the primary beneficiaries of their fans support; we think the artists have a right to own and retain control over the work they have created, not the label that "represents" them.

We are creating a brand that both musicians and music lovers will be proud to be associated with.

We are recording original, as well as old well loved classics across many genres.

We are a team of young musicians, from various musical genres, we are passionate, and we are keen to do what is right, but without people who love and believe in what we do we won't thrive.
